This Easter, Moringa School is hosting a programming workshop at the Makini School. The workshop will run from 13th to 17th April. The students will learn basic programming skills and will do a deep dive into HTML and CSS. For how quickly the workshop filled up, the students are quite eager to learn the basics of how to build a website.
This workshop will be facilitated by Frank, one of our rockstar programming instructors. This will be a great opportunity to introduce these high school students to the world of programming. We hope that this workshop will be able to spark their curiosity and perhaps a career in software engineering down the road.
There are a couple of things we encourage aspiring programmers to do:
Have an open mind: Don’t be discouraged if something seems daunting or difficult at first. Experts say you need to spend 10,000 hours to be an expert at something. You also need 21 days to form a habit.
Be eager to learn: Always strive to do more and learn more. The sky is the limit and remember Google is your friend.
Ask for help: Communicate and ask for help when you need it. Don’t struggle alone.
Practice makes perfect: The more you practice your coding, the better you become.
